Musical collaboration between two Sherbrooke composers:

Michel G. Côté (Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke, Sursaut) and Jacques-Philippe Lemieux-Leblanc (Banjo Consorsium, Les Turcs Gobeurs d’Opium)

Hybrid concert mixing improvised music, sequences and loops prepared and modified according to the show, integration of various sound elements, laptops show and other crafts….

Michel G. Côté is a composer and musician; he has composed more than 500 musical pieces for theatre, dance and performance. He is also artistic director of the Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke. He has worked as a musician in about twenty shows. He has received several grants from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts and was awarded a Prix d’Excellence from the City of Sherbrooke in 1991.

Jacques-Philippe Lemieux-Leblanc is the singer-songwriter behind the musical project The Banjo Consorsium, which has three recordings. His music can be found on several international compilations. The theatre company Les Turcs gobeurs d’opium has used its services for the music of their most recent creations, as has the dance company
Jolt.
