Stop Motion

Animation is a universally known cinematographic technique that is declined in a multitude of formats. Despite the wide range of different processes such as cartoon, stop motion or computer graphics, all these methods have as common denominator to have been fabricated frame by frame. For our workshops, we have chosen stop motion.

These workshops are offered in a variety of formats, but regardless of the duration chosen, they highlight a range of creative and pedagogical skills and encourage teamwork. By getting involved in all stages of the project, whether it is scriptwriting, sound design, screenplay or filming, each child assumes an important role that contributes to the success of the entire team!

Finally, there is something new this year! We include in this category, a workshop on how to create animated GIFS (Graphics Interchange Format) more often known for their humorous use on social networks.

All our workshops are modular and adaptable to your needs. Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss and establish a game plan that suits you!

In 2016-2017, Sporobole received an Essor award for the Parcours migratoire et cinéma d’animation project in collaboration with the École des Quatre-Vents of the Commission scolaire de la Région-de-Sherbrooke.

THE WORKSHOPS

Silence we turn!

Creating animated movies with a tablet is possible!

Conceived as an invitation to discover the visual and cinematographic processes of a film, this workshop is part of a process of education and thinking about image and sound. By participating in all stages of the filmmaking process step by step: screenplay creation, set design, filming and sound, students learn the basics of several mediums such as drawing, sculpture, photography and writing. And just like in the world of cinema, this workshop encourages teamwork!

Using an electronic tablet and the CATEATER application, students will be able to easily create frame-by-frame animated films in a few simple steps, including sound and music tapes.

Workshop available for Elementary Cycle 2, Cycle 3 and High School

Animated #GIF

Create an animated GIF using the Animatic application.

More often seen in humorous contexts on social networks, the art of animated GIF has nevertheless acquired high recognition in recent years by infiltrating the less known spheres of contemporary creation. The GIF is often made from photographs, but one can also work with drawing to create small cartoon vignettes.

The Animatic application is very easy to use and allows young artists to create absolutely stunning loop cartoons!

Workshop available for all primary cycles
